BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Phoebe Weaver is so excited to be the new owner of Four Paws Animal Clinic! Originally from Arizona, she came to love Northern California while she attended veterinary school at University of California, Davis. She has been practicing small animal medicine since she graduated in 2021. Dr. Phoebe is so excited to share her passion for veterinary medicine and love for animals with Nevada County.
Dr. Phoebe lives in Grass Valley with her husband Josh, two cats Sterling and Felix, and her dog Maisy. She enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, skiing, and anything else outdoors!

Jeanie has been working for Four Paws since February 2025. Growing up in Nevada County, she participated in 4-H, raising and showing livestock. She has always had a love for animals, both big and small, and worked in the grooming business for 9+ years before deciding to move to the medical side of animal care. She enjoys long walks with her handsome dog, Sam.

Ethan began working at Four Paws in 2025 and is enjoying every second of it! He is ambitious and determined to make everyone’s day a little brighter. He has grown and raised animals for most of his life here in Nevada County, and has a great interest in further pursuing animal care in his future. Working at the front desk, he is on the front line at the clinic, so he will likely be one of the first people you encounter.

Elisa has been working with us since 2018 and is one of the friendly voices that will greet you when you call. She has four dogs, a spunky kitty, and an impressive collection of fish. Elisa and her husband enjoy adventuring together, spending time with their kids and grandkids, rooting for the Giants, and bird watching.

Danielle has been working at Four Paws since February 2017, and she still feels like she won the job lottery! She’s always had a passion for animals (especially cats,) and she’s so happy she has the privilege to work with the amazing team at Four Paws. When she’s not at work, she and her husband and children work on their home, go on adventures outdoors, or play with their three kitties. She also enjoys making jokes- puns are her favorite.

Jessica has been in the veterinary field since 2002, starting out as a volunteer at a large/small animal emergency clinic. This sparked her love of veterinary medicine, and she’s been working with animals ever since, receiving her RVT license in 2006. Jessica, her husband, and two little girls moved to the area in early 2020 from the Bay Area. They have five lovely animals: four cats (Johnny, Sally, Luna, and Hazy) and one dog (Max). If she is not taking care of her animals or family, she spends her time baking, reading, cross-stitching, or studying Issinryu Karate. Jessica and her family are avid hikers and are happy to spend a day on the trail in the open air and wilderness. This job has been her passion for many years and will be for many years to come.

Jess met Dr. Murphy when she was eight years old through Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release, and then was hired on as a veterinary assistant at 15. She has been working as a licensed RVT (Registered Veterinary Assistant) since 2009. She has dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, pigeons, snakes, fish, and miscellaneous amphibians. She enjoys gardening, wood burning, photography, and wildlife. She is a proud mom of two daughters and two sons, each with great personalities and a wide range of aspirations. She treats all patients as if they were her own and tries to make them feel special. She is proud to have her best friend as her manager and to have such a close relationship with the staff and clients.

Amanda began working with Dr. Susan at the age of 15, and has been at Four Paws since its inception. She loves working with her best friend and cherishes the personal relationships that she and the Four Paws team are able to create with not only other team members, but also each client and pet that comes through the door. She is lucky enough to be married to her high-school sweetheart, and together they have two awesome boys. She and her family are active in local sports, FFA, camping, fishing, and enjoying life on their mini farm with their ever-expanding group of critters with paws, wings, and hooves.

Dr. Susan Murphy graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. She has a son, daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren in Arizona (she started young!). She has 2 dogs: Blu, a Queensland Heeler, and Lilly, a long-haired Dachshund. Her hobbies include kayaking, mosaics, hiking, Taiko drumming, and jogging.
